The Woman in Me- shares Britneys amazing journey and the inner strength of one of the greatest pop music performers ever.
Spears’s ground-breaking book, which is written with incredible humor and candor, highlights the significance of a woman finally expressing her own narrative on her own terms as well as the timeless power of music and love.
I recall being enthralled with Britney Spears as a child. I’m a huge pop lover, so I didn’t only adore her music; but as an introvert kid I saw her as a person who seemed to have it all—the voice, the confidence, and the adoration of millions of people. Looking back, I see that it had to have all been a front.
It was quite depressing and painful to read Britney’s memoir. Why did this girl seem to have no support system? She would eventually be stabbed in the back by every single person she trusted and loved, in the most horrible and deceptive ways imaginable.
What I loved?
I adored her discussion about Madonna’s admiration and the misogyny and double standards in the music industry. I adore hearing and witnessing her reclaim the authority that was once hers. An impactful and potent message.
She has been used by everyone in her life for their own gain and notoriety, so I don’t blame her for using mystery to hide who she really is.
All in all, this book was upsetting and fascinating to read. Even though Britney isn’t the best writer, it’s still an honor to be able to read what appears to be such a close-knit account of what happened. It is my prayer that she stays in peace and finds more of it.
This book is Perfect for Britney Spears fans. Celebrity memoir fans. Excellent read!
