The tale of a relationship that lasts a lifetime and beyond between a mother and her son.
I had shivers reading this novel. Beautiful but heartbreaking. Sincere and sentimental. I can’t even begin to express how these straightforward, honest, and masterfully written lines affected me.
Plot
“When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.”
When Charley, a damaged man whose life has been destroyed by alcohol and sorrow, reaches his lowest point and stumbles back to his former home, he discovers that his mother, who passed away eight years prior, is still there and greets him as if nothing had happened.
What comes next is that one “ordinary” day that so many of us long for—a chance to ask for forgiveness, make amends with a parent who has passed away, and clarify family mysteries. Charley discovers the incredible details about his mother’s sacrifices and life between this one and the next. And he makes an effort to reassemble the broken fragments of his life under her gentle guidance.
Let me say that I enjoyed and loved every single chapter
This unique book serves as a reminder of how fleeting life is for each of us and how much more significant time spent with our family.Savor the moments before they pass away.
Moreover, one of the few stages to a better existence is FORGIVING YOURSELF. Making the best of your life is something you can do at any time.
Completely recommended; a truly inspirational story about love and the value of life
