This instruction sheet to read the manual is for my daughter Lois. These guidelines apply: 1. There is one new entry for every year until you turn thirty, and you must only read them on your birthday. 2. Between you and me, this manual is confidential. 3. Unless it’s your birthday, refrain from peeking at the subsequent entry.
The fact that the 5-year-old daughter is still without a father is fortunately partially mitigated by the fact that he leaves her with a “manual” of stories that go along with it as she grows up. Even though the father and daughter are not physically together, their love story is heartwarming.
When Lois Bates receives the manual, she finds it difficult to read it because the agony of losing her father is still so fresh in her mind. But before long, his counsel is leading her through each phase of her life, from her first relationships and romantic relationships to her professional life. Although having her father back would always be preferable to reading the handbook, Lois learns to start living through his teachings and realises that happiness is just around the corner.
What I liked about/didn’t like about the book?
On numerous occasions, this book made me cry. The book is exceptionally well written overall, and character development is done quite well. This book makes you reevaluate your connections with everyone in your family and circle of friends, not just your father. A thought-provoking book forces the reader to consider the larger picture while attempting to make the right choices in life. This is a realistic portrayal of any young lady who has difficulties in her life, whether those difficulties involve her parents, siblings, friends, partners, job applications, or the wider world. I find it incredible that a father can teach his daughter so much even though he is not around physically.
He makes it clear to the reader that the world changes along with her every year as he appears to understand exactly what she is going through at each stage of her life. Every year has unique difficulties and problems.
Who should read this?
Everyone should read this fantastic book since it depicts the realisation of a girl becoming a woman, making decisions for herself, and viewing the world from both her and her father’s eyes.
Final Verdict
An excellent book to read. You won’t regret purchasing this book, I can assure you.
