Plot:

Welcome to White Cliff Bay, a quaint seaside community where love is in the air and Christmas is enchanting. Penny Meadows

She adores her house, a cosy cottage with beautiful shimmering fairy lights and breathtaking views of the hamlet of White Cliff Bay. She also enjoys carving beautiful sculptures out of ice for a living. Nonetheless, her private life appears stagnant.

Penny is determined to make Henry and Daisy feel comfortable when they visit the cottage to rent the annex. Daisy is amiable, while Henry appears reserved.

Penny discovers there is more to Henry than initially when meets the eye as she gets to know him. Additionally, the relationship between them is too great to overlook.

Will Penny melt the ice and allow love into her heart when the magic of the season permeates the seaside town and preparations for the ice sculpture contest and Christmas Eve ball are in full swing? And will she have the ideal Christmas she has been hoping for this year?

What I liked about the book?

The story is really lovely, and I laughed and smiled the entire time I was reading it. Henry and Penny fall in love right away, and as time goes on, their relationship blossoms into something quite lovely. Holly Martin did an excellent job of developing a compelling plotline with a faultless language and amazing details. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it and didn’t want the story to stop. Penny is sweet and caring, Daisy is beautiful, and Henry is darling. It’s difficult to realise that it is only a book because, for every time I read it, it feels like I had been living in White Cliff Bay, taking in their growing closeness just like any other local.

Everything is there in this beauty—humor, love, camaraderie, and the cosiness of Christmas—is perfectly matched. There are, in fact, Christmas balls, gingerbread houses, garlands, snowflakes, snow, Christmas trees, and even gingerbread houses. December 25th in September!

I’m reading Holly Martin for the first book, and I’ve already fallen in love with her writing and her lovable characters. I’ll defiantly check out her other works as well.

Who should read this?

It’s the ideal romance to cuddle up with by the fire. Yes, this one is for you if you want to read a light book with no major surprises. You’ll appreciate the book’s straightforwardness.

Final Verdict

If you’re searching for a cosy, cutesy, sweet, Christmassy romance book, this one is highly recommended.
