October is the favourite season of all readers in my group. It is mine 🤗 and let me know yours? ( drop your favourite season in the comment section 😊)

If you’ve been following me on Instagram and other social media platforms you would know my preferences for book to a very large extent depends on current weather. As it’s autumn right now, and there is Halloween vibes everywhere, I love to read gothic, magical , witchy novels in this time of the year. Therefore I come here with three new releases this month-gothic themed. The third book is not a gothic themed novel but I’ve put it here because it is too good to be missed out.
- Daughter of the new year by EM Tran. A debut novel that focuses on women in Vietnamese-American family. Beautifully written and very meticulously author is able to put forward the perspective of women.
- Little Eve by Catriona Ward. This one is a winner of Shirley Jackson award for best award. It has a Gothic touch to it and the plot is well built. Story about a girl- Eve who lives with her uncle and her family and post a war break out things changes for her.
- Dinosaurs by Lydia Millet. Gil, a 45 year old man, moves to Arizona post failing in love and sooner his life begin to mesh with theirs. The story line switches back forth from present to past and it was done so well by Lydia ( you won’t feel a lag). A thought provoking novel that you should read.
