Many people asked me to share a list of books that teenagers in their families should read.
I feel that there is no specific age to read a motivational book. You can read them if you are fourteen year old or 80 year old. But still I can understand that an eighty year old might appreciate the content given in motivational books a bit more than a teenager.
So here I came up with a list of books that I wished, I would have read a bit earlier( definitely not during my teens as these are recently launched 😅)
- Atomic habits : this book tells us a lot about how tiny changes in our lives can bring out remarkable results. James Clear had in a very easy language mentioned different ways using which we can not only build good habits but also break the bad ones. This book stresses on the importance of having systems around our goals and not just about setting goals which if I think further makes complete sense. A goal without a robust system to meet that goal is of no use. Clear also has highlighted in Atomic habits that it’s very important that we make tiny positive changes in our life rather than setting up huge overwhelming goals for ourselves.
- Deep work is a book by Cal Newport who in this book has come up with some rules that can take us towards success. Times that we live in is very different from the one that our older generations lived in. It is a distracted world that we live in and to succeed in such encipherment need a combination of good qualities and one of them is being focused. Deep work will help us complete the task on time and of the best quality which is exactly the demand of our growing economies. He also touches on how important it is to deep dive into things. In this book you will be reading a book that shares with you some very concrete steps for improving your focus.
- Ikigai unveils a Japanese secret to long and happy life. It makes us think on some very important questions like what do I love doing in life, am I really good at it- good enough that someone can pay me for this if I plan on selling this as my services, do I have an audience who would need these services and finally, will people be interested in paying me for these services. Ikigai I feel is nothing but your super power like every Avenger hero. We need to identify it, convert it into a skill and then provide it as a service to people who might be interested . Easy said thanks done though! But this book be a good starting point to start thinking in these directions. This book also has steps on how you can identify your Ikigai which to me seemed doable and practical.
- Good vibes good life. This book by Vex King is all about self love and how it can help us a be a best version of ourselves. In the age of social media it is very easy for a person to become all negative about himself, his surroundings and negative on totality. And we hear a lot of influencers speaking a lot on self Love and how it’s importance for our growth. This book just puts up all those point together, basically, explaining how we can convert a negative feeling to a positive one and how we can make sure that the happiness lasts for a longer time. This book just does not speak only about self love but uses this in different contexts like cultivating positive life styles, meditation, mindfulness, manifesting goals and finding our higher purpose
- Make your bed. This one is a simple book that tells us how important it is for us to do enjoy little chores and these chores aren’t to be ignored. It has power to change things in your life. I loved this book so much. Once I heard a beautiful quote saying- don’t let the bitterness in the world make your heart bitter too. This book is almost in the same lines.
- Ichigo Ichie, another book from the author of Ikigai. In this book the third take us to next level and which is the art of making the most of every moment. This book has some really good steps on how we can achieve mindfulness in a Japanese way.
I hope you’ll love these suggestions and put into action a lot of points mentioned in these books.
Do let me know if you’ve read any of these books and have equally enjoyed them like I did 😊🥰
Happy reading!
