Plot: This book is full of family secrets and mysteries that will keep you glued throughout. This book is about Cassandra and a family secret related to her dead grandmother- Nell. Scenes in this books are travelling multiple time periods and have the capacity to flow you to that era (trust me you wont get lost, Kate’s way of writing takes care of this 🙂 )

Coming back to the plot- While Cassandra (In Australia) is grieving over the death of her grandmother, she is being notified that her grandmother has left a mansion for her in London. This triggers the quest for Cassandra to now more about her grand mother. Nell never discussed her connection to London with Cassandra. On her travel to London, she meets few people who Nell knew and tries to understand more about Nell’s connection with London and the mansion. Nell, was discovered by an Australian family when she was just 4. While she was engaged, she also came to know about her history. Being the curious mind she journeys to London where she traces her parentage Rose. Rose and her husband Nathaniel had a daughter who died at the age of 4. Nell dies before she could investigate further. Beyond this Cassnadra looks for more clues to understand her background and the mystery around it.

What I liked about the book?  Before this book, I had not about Kate Morton or about any of her books. I picked this book just because of it’s name.  I enjoyed this book from the start itself. The way Kate takes you through multiple era’s without confusing the story is just amazing. Moment you think, you know what’ll happen next, she surprises you with some twists.
