Plot: Reason I picked this book was, I wanted to read a light romcomedy ( is that even a wordπŸ™†β€β™€οΈ,but you get my point right?πŸ˜‰), And this one did not fail.

Overdue life of Amy Byler,is about an overworked and underappreciated single mom. Now here’s a catch she is a single mom, but is also currently married to James, her ex husband (wow isn’t that a mess😳 and this is not a spolier 😁).

To raise her children well, she transforms from being a #StayathomeMOM to #workingMOM.
She learns how to mend things at home,so that she can save some bucks for vacations etc etc. While she’s trying to raise well read teenager and a space lover pre teen, one day,out of nowhere, her husband appears, all guilty and what notπŸ™„

She being an amazing women, gives him time to bond with kids, meanwhile she plans her MOMSPRINGA at New York. From here we see a mommy turning into a teenager, chilling, and having fun with her friends in NYC.

What I really liked about this one?

Totally can understand how energy draining the whole process of raising two kids would have been for her. Though she did well but in the process, she made her children way too practical. Once the dad was back we could see how he was permitting children to be. In parenting both is needed, a parent that spoils and a parent that helps them understand and face realities. In the end she finds love, or atleast is hopeful of it.

Not sharing much, read out to find out if she goes back to her husband or if there is a new love interest. You’ll not be disappointed πŸ™‚

What I liked about the book?

I liked how the author has twinned humor with the sad realities of Amy’s life. Throughout I could feel how unsettling her life is because of all the events that happened in her life (like her husband leaving her) but she did not let all that reflect in her daily life. This book has a little touch of feminism where the protagonist did make a strong come back by taking job as a librarian and supported her family. Even when her husband was back, she maintained her strong stance and did not let emotions fiddle and permitted her husband to not only meet the kids but also spend time with them.

Who should read this?

Everyone should read this book. This is funny yet very relatable story. If you are a working mom, dont give a second thought, go for it, girl πŸ™‚

What did I learn from this book?

  • We should be ready for all types of situations in our life.
  • We should always take out time for ourselves and pause and reflect. A monotonous life can take a lot of toll on mental health. Have your own- Momspringahh!
