Plot: Before the coffe gets cold is divided into four different yet connected stories. I see this book as the one which had no protagonist or otherwise put, all the characters in it were the main hero’s and heroines. The author has done an amazing job in making sure that all the stories are given equal preference which gave me an almost real like experience to me. I literally cried at many places 😭
Story took place in a café- Funiculi Funicula, also famously known as the “Time-Traveling Cafe”. The main characters in this book are- Fumiko, Yaeko Hirai,Kazu Tokita, Nagare,Fusagi, Kei and the women in the white dress ( she was a ghost – don’t worry this isn’t a spoiler😊). Throughout the journey these characters would travel back or ahead in time, and the catch is that though they can travel but they won’t be able to change anything in the present. Time travel is a journey that comes with a lot many predefined rules that every traveler has to abide to, for successfully returning back to the present. All these characters travelled in time but made sure that they live that moment – till the coffee is hot!
What I liked about the book?
In this book the author had very beautifully depicted the emotional situation that all these characters are living in, and the choices that they make for themselves. Some books would teach you a few things while narrating the stories and this is one of such books. The ultimate learning that I take from it is to- enjoy the coffee before it gets cold or enjoy your life to its fullest. All could I say for this book is that it was very simple (quick) to read but not simple, when it came to the stories in it.
Who should read this?
I would highly recommend this book to all and specially if you are a new reader and still trying to built in that habit.
